While the economy is still in recovery mode, it seems clear that we can expect more gradual growth as opposed to an overnight fix. This is true of numerous sectors, including the IT channel.
A recent industry survey found that the numbers back up this feeling. According to the quarterly "IT Hiring Forecast and Local Trend Report," after waiting for signs of sustained growth, many IT decision-makers have seen what they needed and are now ready to start hiring again.
The study showed that 56 percent of CIOs plan to hire for open IT positions and 12 percent plan to expand their IT teams in the third quarter. What's more, 85 percent of technology executives are confident about their company's prospects for hiring growth this quarter.
Despite the increased hiring levels and confidence, 69 percent of those surveyed said it's challenging to find skilled IT professionals.
"Finding candidates in hot specialty areas such as networking, database management and help-desk support continues to be a challenge for many companies," said one industry insider. "Many firms are increasing their focus on retention because good candidates can be hard to find."
As the economy continues to recover, more companies are going to start hiring again and investing in technology innovations to improve business practices. In many instances, it can be easier to partner with an experienced solution provider when it comes to implementing the latest technology. Those VARs and MSPs that have partnered with VAR Staffing can stand above the competition and have the impactful talent that can make a true difference.
