Each technological innovation changes the way that the entire tech industry operates. The IT channel finds new skills in demand along with new compensation rates that are required for those who perform these services.
Recently, Staff.com wrote an article to coincide with the release of an infographic that examined the latest trends and which in-demand IT skills have been created because of them.
"The same changes that cause jobs to go extinct often create brand new types of jobs at the same time," the article read. "Consider the type of factory assembly line work that no longer exists, and the millions of IT jobs that have taken their place – the kind of jobs no factory worker in the 1950s could ever have imagined."
Topping the list by a wide margin is mobile application development. There are currently more job opportunities than there are skilled professionals to fill them. On the job board Dice, postings for Android Developers were up 129 percent in 2012 and up 190 percent in that timeframe for iOS developers.
The infographic also touched on the other major skills gap, found in the cloud computing sector. The numbers show that 1.7 million cloud-related jobs went unfilled in 2012. What's more, that number is only going to grow as two out of three enterprises are planning on implementing or using a cloud computing solution by the end of 2013.
Because finding these professionals can be frustrating, many companies are turning toward VARs and MSPs to answer the challenges. When these solution providers are partnered with VAR Staffing, it ensures they have the impactful talent to get the job done.
