When you think about what IT executives have nightmares about, there is a good chance you get an image of a data breach or a network failing at the worst possible time. While it is easy to understand why security problems are at the top of the list, the cause of that concern varies.
EIQ Networks released the results of a survey of 272 IT decision makers in several industries. Staffing concerns were at the top of the list of why IT security remains such a major concern.
According to the numbers, 67 percent of respondents said they were currently understaffed. On top of that, only 27 percent felt their current IT security staff was experienced enough to be fully prepared for any challenge that could come through the IT channel. Going a step further, 58 percent said they were somewhat prepared, while only 10 percent said they were not prepared at all.
This unpreparedness has lead to a lack of training and preventative action being taken. Forty-two percent of IT professionals said they react after an incident has been identified and 25 percent said they did not know how long it would take their company to identify the cause of a breach.
This is why a number of different companies have turned toward VARs and MSPs to answer their security problems. However, these solution providers also need to find the impactful IT security talent to overcome challenges. VAR Staffing provides quality professionals to manage any security concerns.
