According to a recent article from CIO, one of the biggest challenges for the future of business is in the hands of infrastructure and operations (I&O) talent. In the piece, John Rivard, a research director at Gartner, breaks down why the individuals in these areas are both a company's best asset and largest financial burden.
"It's on the shoulders of these folks that the future of your organization rests, and if you're not doing everything you can to recruit and retain the best of the best, you could be at a competitive disadvantage," Rivard said. "I believe there's going to be a battle over the future of your organization, and I&O is at the crossroads. Your best employees have a greater, more positive impact on your organization than your best customers."
He went on to say that many organizations rely on "tactical" hiring, which means replacing employees without much thought into future growth and development. With higher turnover rates, which every business in experiencing, this lack of deeper planning can become a major issue and create larger skills gaps internally.
To answer many of today's technology challenges, organizations are turning toward VARs and MSPs to provide the needed knowledge. Quality solution providers are partnered with VAR Staffing to identify and recruit the impactful talent that is needed to have a major influence on daily operations.
