Some professionals in the IT channel will be using the new year to find a new opportunity. It could be a need for more money or just the change to face a new challenge. Luckily for these individuals, the technology landscape is seeking quality individuals and companies are looking.
A recent technology staffing survey of 860 hiring managers conducted by Dice discovered 2014 will be a bright year for IT professionals. The study found that 73 percent of respondents plan to hire in the new year.
This is being pushed by a new sense of empowerment for technology employees. In the survey, 42 percent of IT executives said there had been an increase in voluntary departures. That number is up from 33 percent in May 2013. On top of that, 34 percent said more tech professionals are rejecting offers in the last six months.
"The New Year should be 'all systems go' for tech professionals on the career front," Dice President Shravan Goli said in a news release. "There are not many times when you can write your own ticket but this consistent optimism and upward pressure on compensation means it's time to capitalize."
There seems to be a growing number of opportunities in the IT landscape. Because of the need to find this talent, companies are turning toward VARs and MSPs as a way to find the impactful talent quickly.
