For many small businesses, adopting the latest technology is much easier said than done. The sheer number of options in the marketplace and the rate of technological evolution make staying on top of the industry a challenge for even the most seasoned of technology professions. If you are a small business owner who doesn't have the resources available to handle even the most traditional tech systems, investing in more advanced solutions becomes nearly impossible without help.
A recent study from Brother International Corporation and non-profit SCORE of 500 small business owners with fewer than 100 employees. It found that 64 percent feel "overwhelmed" when it comes to technology.
While cost has been the main concern for the last five years, the new survey found that tech guidance and support is the biggest challenge. Fifty-nine percent of respondents said that there are "insufficient resources" available for the small business community.
"Our survey shows that while small business owners understand the value of new technologies, they are still a bit overwhelmed and struggle with choosing the right time to adopt them to have the greatest impact on their business," John Wandishin, Brother's vice president of marketing, said in the report.
