According to an infographic that VAR Staffing has released, despite the recession, the demand for talent in the IT sector has continued to rise over the last few years. However, so has the price of funding and retaining quality professionals.
Over the last decade, opportunities in the IT field have increased by 37 percent. There is also a forecast that in the next six years, this will continue to grow another 11 percent. Furthermore, positions within the IT channel are specifically on the rise with an expected year over year increase of 12 percent.
Even with opportunity, finding good talent can be costly. The three most in-demand IT jobs are IT field technicians, information technology specialists and software developers, and all three of them have experienced an increase in the median salary of at least $4,000 over the last two years.
This increase is not only happening because of demand, but also because some professions, to compete in an expanding market, are pursuing certifications that are increasing salaries. For example, the average salary expectations for certified candidates in 2014 are:
- MCITP – $67,000
- CCNP – $81.000
- VCP – $93,000
- CCIE – $141,000
The use of the latest technology is growing in the business landscape and it requires quality professionals to make sure it is handled successfully. With the price tag on this talent increasing, organizations need to make sure they are hiring the right individuals every time. This can be a challenge, but VAR Staffing provides a helping hand to ensure companies identify and recruit the impactful talent that makes a real difference.
