When it comes to the technology sector, there are several skill sets that are growing in demand. One of the hottest is software development and companies are starting to pay top dollar to find and recruit these impactful players.
According to an article from InfoWorld, the job market for talented developers has tightened and caused many businesses to start offering lucrative bonuses and higher salaries that are topping $100,000. This is happening all around the country and not just in major tech hubs like Silicon Valley.
The article examined a study from Dice.com — an online tech job search site — of 700 employers that found nearly 66 percent of companies offered lucrative bonus packages to software developers and other employees. Of the companies that offered a bonus, 10 percent had one specifically for software developers while 50 percent had these programs in place since 2013.
"The spike in bonus programs is no surprise given the high demand and tight supply in the market for software developers," the article reads. "A search for jobs with 'software developer' in the title or description yielded more than 12,000 hits on the job board. Simply put, it's a gold rush."
The main skills that companies are looking for include Java/J2EE, .Net, C++, C# and SQL. There are also emerging platforms like Hadoop and Python, plus the mobile creation market.
Before handing out this kind of cash for a software developer, companies need to make sure they have identified the best candidate for their practice. VAR Staffing helps any IT solution provider identify and recruit the impactful talent that is needed to make a big difference.
