Those tasked with filling open positions, regardless of the company or industry they are in, must find candidates with the skills necessary to do the responsibilities of their jobs. Unfortunately, this is becoming increasingly difficult in a number of segments of the business sector, particularly where technical skills are involved.
AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson recently expressed his concern over this matter. Stephenson, who also serves as chairman of the Business Roundtable, gave a statement earlier this month about AT&T's current struggles with finding job candidates with the right skills and how his company's troubles are just one example in an overall business trend.
"The main issue that businesses face today is a skillset mismatch. Our company is experiencing this today," he said Tuesday in a conference call with reporters. "This is something we as a country have to deal with."
Businesses that aren't able to find job candidates with the technical skills necessary to manage technology in-house may opt to work with VARs and MSPs to find the solutions and support they need. However, MSPs and VARs must ensure they are hiring individuals who can perform the duties with the ability and expertise required by their clients. Given the growing gap between skills needed and skills available, this can be a challenge.
VAR Staffing can help with this effort by identifying and recruiting the talent needed for these positions. By locating the best people for specific jobs, we can help alleviate concerns regarding inadequate skill levels and help VARs and MSPs find the individuals who will help meet the needs of their clients.
